With deep sense of sorrow we would like to appeal to your nobility to kindly consider the pathetic plight of the flood victims of Kurnool City of Andhra Pradesh State, South India.
It is with a heavy heart we have to state that Kurnool District and Kurnool City in particular is in the grip of unprecedented floods caused by the continued down-pour and torrential rains for the last one week. The two major reservoirs Srisailam and Nagarjuna Sagar in this area are at risk threatening thousand lives in the district. Several villages have been badly affected by heavy rains that occurred on 31-09-2009 and 1-10-2009 (2 days) and resulted in heavy flood in the several part of Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh. The rains were accompanied by hurricane air with a speed of 100 KMs per hour. This has resulted in extensive damage to the property of the people residing in the villages of Kurnool District.
