Keeping in
view the problems of this NGO deficient region, RDWWS conducted several
campaigns regarding health and awareness of the people. We had conducted several awareness camps and
literacy campaigns as part and parcel of our programs or projects. The
society regularly running one literacy center. The main aim of this
literacy center is to motivate people to participate in the literary
programme in their leisure time. RDWWS is regularly conducting P.R.A
(Participatory Rural Appraisal) to identify illiterate women. RDWWS is
distributing materials such as slates, pencils, books to these people at
free of cost. This
programme is running smoothly with the help of Adult
Education Department . The society has been doing outstanding services to
immunize the children from Polio disease. During pulse polio camps RDWWS
team motivated the women for the immunization of children. RDWWS has been
conducted several free health camps in rural areas of Proddatur, Yerraguntla
and Mydukur Mandals. RDWWS distributed free medicines to the participants.
Every year we are distributing musquito nets to the poor to protect
themselves from viral fevers such as malaria like that.
During the year 1999-2000 we had conducted several awareness camps on
untouchability, early marriages ,dowry etc., in the
Proddatur Mandal. As
there is no awareness on HIV/AIDS in rural areas, RDWWS is regularly
conducting regular awareness camps in selected rural areas. During these
camps we are explaining people about the causes of AIDS and educating
people about safe sex and preventory methods. As sever drought occurred
during the years 2002-04, RDWWS distributed food grains to the poor. RDWWS
conducting Environmental awareness campaigns every year. During these
campaigns our volunteers explaining about the need of Environmental
protection. At the same time we are encouraging people to plant more trees.
On the eve of World Environmental Day, Every year June 5th RDWWS conducting
a rally on environmental protection. RDWWS conducting seminars in backward
rural areas about human rights. Every
year we are distributing sarees to the poor women on the eve Christmas.
